Narrow boat

or

canoe

The Inland Waterways now extend to Buxworth Canal Basin. However, this is closed for the present time. However, it is easy to moor a narrowboat at Whaley Bridge and cycle or walk the two miles to Victory Hall along the canal tow path to Buxworth Canal basin. Then take the Peak Forest Tramway for half a mile to Chinley from the Canal Basin. The tramway crosses the road in Whitehough. Turn left on to Whitehough Head Lane (if you go right you will be outside the Oddfellows Arms pub in seconds!). Victory Hall is about 2 minutes or 100 yards down the hill on your right (before you cross the road bridge over Black Brook river)
